Insight Into… Our Friday Night Soup Run at Mustard Tree

Last week a group of our employees gave up their Friday evening, after a busy week working hard to smash September, and got stuck in to an extremely worthy cause.

We spent the night serving hot meals prepared by the amazing people at Mustard Tree to those that needed some warmth and respite. Once the soup run was complete, we helped wash up, clean down the kitchen and tidy the open area that the charity have created in the brand new building. After everyone had finished their food, we sat and chatted with one another, lending an ear to those that needed to talk. We even enjoyed a musical marathon and sing along as instruments were brought out and some of the talented people at Mustard Tree taught our very own Sophie how to play the backing beat on guitar. Finally, and in true recruiter style, those with the gift of the gab were put to good use by Mustard Tree to promote a new initiative that the charity has launched!

Mustard Tree are an incredible charity here in Manchester, tackling both the causes and consequences of poverty and homelessness. Having recently moved in to a new building, the transformation the organisation has undergone is truly phenomenal – it was clear to see the difference the new and more open plan communal space has made to people!

The night was incredibly humbling for everyone involved here at Insight and we couldn’t be prouder to be working with such a life changing charity. A massive thank you to Sophie at Mustard Tree for allowing us to be part of the amazing work the organisation does every single day.
