Here at Insight Recruitment, we’re excited to further expand and strengthen our Mission Critical team. Jacob Jackson joins the Insight family in the position of Recruitment Consultant specialising in the Mechanical industry.

 

About Jacob:

I am joining Insight as a recruitment consultant, recruiting within the Data Centre/Pharma space, specialising within the Mechanical Engineering arm of the division. I will be in contact with a wide range of engineers within this specialism, such as; Mech Commissioning Managers, HVAC Engineers, Mech Project Manager, QA/QC Engineers and many more! 

Our clients provide Data Centre/Pharmaceutical plant construction solutions to businesses within a wide range of industries. We are recruiting for roles within the UK and Europe

Why are you excited to work within this market?

find this market exciting, it’s a new challenge for me coming from a different background – to have the opportunity to work with both clients and candidates in different countries, from different cultures is personally really interesting for me. The market is competitive and fast paced, which is exactly what I love about the recruitment industry!

What’s your background?

Previously done 5.5 years in a different Agency, mainly recruiting for high volume Temporary requirements across FMCG, Logistics, Agriculture and Hospitality. Just after this, I wanted a bit of a change, so I utilised skills I had picked up in my personal hobbies and went to work for a vehicle conversion company for 10 months.

I have worked a variety of roles and worked with a mixed array of clients within the recruitment industry, working with both fast-paced temporary requirements and some often more thorough, permanent hires. I had worked my way up from a Junior Resourcer to a Senior Consultant with my last employer, so I have had exposure to all ends of the recruitment cycle.

 In terms of transferrable skills, certainly the pace and importance of getting the right hire within the previous sector I recruited within are very transferrable. There is also a huge focus on candidate compliance, which again is extremely important and relevant to the Mission Critical desk.

Why did you join Insight?

After interviewing with a variety of agencies locally, Insight was head and shoulders above the rest in terms of opportunities to earn, learn and grow. The calculated approach to target setting and the very autonomous way of working really caught my eye! Having the opportunity to surround yourself and work with some very successful people within the recruitment market was important to me, and Insight have an abundance of proven recruiters.

What does Insight’s purpose of Empowering Sustainable Growth mean to you?

It aligns well with my personal values, as do the core company values. It suggests to me that natural growth is allowed within the business, rather than it being a forced activity.

I was once North Yorkshire U13 champion at Javelin after never doing it prior to then…I can’t even throw half that distance now!
