Job Title:
PD/PM/Senior Technical PM – Data Centre Delivery (End-to-End Lifecycle)
Location:
Multiple / Flexible (with travel to project sites)
Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced and self-sufficient Senior Technical Project Manager to lead the end-to-end delivery of hyperscale data centre projects — from site acquisition through to General Availability (GA).
This role requires a professional who can operate independently, anticipate challenges before they arise, and add immediate value across the full lifecycle of complex infrastructure builds. You will be expected to own delivery, not just coordinate it — acting as a driving force within cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:
End-to-End Project Ownership
  • Lead full lifecycle delivery of data centre builds:
    • Site acquisition & due diligence
    • Design & planning
    • Permitting & approvals
    • Construction & commissioning
    • Integration & operational readiness
    • Handover to operations (GA)
  • Ensure seamless transition between each phase with no loss of momentum or clarity.

Proactive Risk & Issue Management
  • Continuously assess project status and identify risks before they materialise.
  • Use experience to forecast likely failure points across:
    • Supply chain
    • Design dependencies
    • Regulatory approvals
    • Construction sequencing
    • Commissioning timelines
  • Develop and implement mitigation strategies early, not reactively.

Technical & Commercial Leadership
  • Demonstrate deep understanding of:
    • Data centre design (power, cooling, redundancy models)
    • Construction methodologies
    • Critical infrastructure systems
    • Commissioning processes (Level 1–5)
  • Balance technical requirements with commercial constraints (cost, schedule, ROI).

Cross-Functional Coordination
  • Work closely with:
    • Real estate / acquisition teams
    • Design engineers
    • Construction managers
    • Vendors & contractors
    • Operations teams
  • Act as the central point of accountability across all stakeholders.

Independent Delivery Mindset
  • Operate with minimal oversight — able to stand on your own two feet.
  • Take ownership of decisions and outcomes.
  • Avoid dependency on constant direction; instead, bring solutions.

Programme Visibility & Reporting
  • Maintain clear, accurate reporting on:
    • Schedule (milestones, critical path)
    • Budget tracking
    • Risks & issues
    • Readiness for next phases
  • Provide leadership with actionable insights, not just status updates.

Continuous Improvement
  • Identify opportunities to improve delivery processes.
  • Capture lessons learned and feed them into future builds.
  • Help standardise best practices across the portfolio.

Required Experience:
  • Proven experience delivering hyperscale or large-scale data centre projects.
  • Demonstrated ownership across full lifecycle delivery (acquisition ? GA).
  • Strong background in:
    • Construction project management
    • Technical infrastructure delivery
    • Mission-critical environments
  • Experience working within large cloud providers, colocation providers, or major contractors is highly desirable.

Core Competencies:
Proactive Thinking
  • Anticipates problems before they occur.
  • Thinks several steps ahead of the current project phase.
Ownership & Accountability
  • Takes full responsibility for delivery outcomes.
  • Does not wait to be told what to do.
Technical Depth
  • Understands how data centres actually work — not just at a high level.
Decision-Making
  • Makes informed decisions quickly, even with incomplete data.
Resilience
  • Comfortable operating in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.
Communication
  • Clear, concise communicator with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

What Success Looks Like:
  • Projects delivered on time, within budget, and meeting performance requirements.
  • Risks identified early and mitigated effectively.
  • Minimal surprises during commissioning and go-live.
  • Recognised as a net contributor to the team, not a dependency.
  • Trusted by leadership to handle complex builds independently.
