Senior Mechanical Engineer

Insight are partnered with an innovative autonomy startup seeking a hands-on Senior Mechanical Engineer to help bridge the gap between rapid R&D and large-scale production. This role will focus on developing robust mechanical systems for autonomous platforms, working closely with hardware and AI teams to take designs from prototype to field-ready deployment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the full hardware lifecycle from prototyping to production

• Design and develop mechanical structures, mounts, and systems for autonomous platforms

• Conduct testing and validation in both workshop and real-world environments

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure systems are reliable and production-ready

Requirements

• Experience scaling complex hardware products (fabrication, assembly, structural design)

• Hands-on experience with 3D printing, machining, and workshop tools

• Experience with FEA and simulation, combined with practical engineering knowledge

• Strong understanding of Design for Manufacturing (DFM)

• Experience working with contract manufacturers (CMs)
