Firmware Engineer (C/C++)

We’re working with a fast-growing robotics company building high-performance robotic systems designed for real-world industrial environments. The team includes engineers who previously developed advanced robotics platforms and large-scale automated systems, and they’re now building the next generation of scalable robotics technology.

They’re looking for an experienced Firmware Engineer to help design and build the core embedded systems that power their robots.

This is a high-impact role in a small, highly technical team where you’ll take ownership of firmware architecture and help build the foundations for systems that will scale across large fleets of deployed robots.

What You’ll Work On

  • Designing firmware and embedded software for robotic hardware
  • Building reusable C++ libraries and frameworks used across the engineering team
  • Developing production-grade systems for OTA updates, diagnostics, logging, and reliability
  • Working closely with hardware and robotics engineers to debug and optimise real-world systems
  • Helping shape the embedded architecture as the platform scales

What They’re Looking For

  • Strong C/C++ firmware or embedded systems experience
  • Experience shipping firmware on real deployed devices (not just prototypes)
  • Familiarity with hardware protocols such as SPI, CAN, or EtherCAT
  • Strong systems thinking and the ability to make high-level technical decisions
  • Comfortable working in a fast-moving, low-structure environment

Nice to Have

  • Robotics or autonomous systems experience
  • Background in deep-tech companies (space, defense, robotics, autonomy, etc.)
  • Experience with sensor processing, IMUs, or real-time systems
