About Oliver:

I’m Oliver and I’m a Recruitment Consultant at Insight, specialising in the PHP market. I will be working with PHP Developers/Engineers, recruiting on a global scale.

Why are you excited to work within this market?

I’m excited about the growth in the Tech industry as well as the innovation and passion candidates have for their work, especially in the PHP industry. Furthermore, I look forward to helping teams grow.

What’s your background?

I studied Politics at Leeds Beckett University, graduating in 2020. While studying I worked as an in-house fundraiser for a shelter, this is where I first experienced working in a fast-paced, target-driven environment, learning skills that will be key to my role as a recruiter such as interacting and engaging with new people regularly, objection handling and closing deals albeit on a smaller scale.

After graduating I moved back home and was employed with Census for 2 months, while working in this temporary role I also worked for Bradford Council as a Covid Support Worker, there was a lot of variety to this role which was constantly evolving as the nature of the job is trying to combat an unpredictable virus, I learnt many transferable skills from this role such as adaptability.

Why did you join Insight?

I wanted to start my new career at Insight since my first interview with them, having been interested in working within the recruitment industry for a while. I was impressed by the wealth of experience they had and the support they offered, also having spoken to members of staff that I would be working with, the drive and commitment to role they showed highlighted how Insight is a place where people are motivated to perform both individually and through collaboration.

Ultimately the support, the culture and the fast-paced environment all showed me that this was going to be the right place for me to step forward and give me the best chance of being successful.
