Localization Engineer - Los Angeles

Salary: $200K+ (Equity Included)

 

We are looking for an experienced Localization Engineer to join our team in Los Angeles. In this role, you will be at the forefront of developing advanced localization technologies, specializing in Visual-Inertial Odometry (VIO) and SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping). You will work on complex algorithms for precise localization in real-world environments, playing a critical role in driving the next generation of autonomous systems.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and optimize Visual-Inertial Odometry (VIO) and SLAM algorithms for localization in various environments.
  • Work with multi-sensor fusion techniques to improve system accuracy and reliability.
  • Implement real-time localization solutions for autonomous robots, drones, and other mobile systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate localization algorithms into broader systems, ensuring high performance and scalability.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and field tests to ensure the robustness of localization solutions.

 

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in LocalizationSLAM, and VIO (Visual-Inertial Odometry) algorithms.
  • Strong background in computer vision, machine learning, and sensor fusion techniques.
  • Proficiency in C++ and Python, with experience in libraries such as OpenCV, ROS, and PCL.
  • Solid understanding of visual-inertial systems and related localization algorithms.
  • Hands-on experience working with autonomous systems, including robots, drones, or other mobile platforms.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to innovate in complex environments.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in RoboticsComputer VisionMachine Learning, or a related field.
  • Experience working with large-scale datasets and developing algorithms for real-time performance.
  • Knowledge of additional sensor modalities (LIDAR, IMU, etc.) and integration techniques.
