About the Role
We are looking for a highly skilled, self-motivated Engineering Manager to lead a team dedicated to building consumer-facing applications. Your role will involve guiding the development of high-quality systems, driving system design and architecture, and fostering a strong, performance-driven team culture in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team to design and implement features using Dart/Flutter, ensuring that the product meets security, performance, and quality standards.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and stakeholders, to shape the product and technology strategy.
- Take ownership of the delivery of complex features and improvements, ensuring they are completed on time and meet high standards.
- Advocate for continuous improvements in the quality, security, and performance of the product.
- Maintain and promote internal standards for code quality, documentation, and best practices. Mentor and support team members in their professional development.
- Create and nurture a collaborative, inclusive, and dynamic team culture where diverse ideas and perspectives are encouraged.
- Have 10+ years of experience in engineering, with a strong focus on application development.
- Are highly proficient in Flutter/Dart, including experience with state management and asynchronous programming.
- Have hands-on experience with multi-platform application development (including web, mobile, and desktop).
- Have a proven track record of building efficient, user-friendly, and high-quality software.
- Are adept at technical documentation, including models like C4 and tools like ADR (Architectural Decision Records).
- Are comfortable working with technologies such as JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, React, and cloud environments (AWS is a plus).
- Understand and prioritise privacy, security, high performance, and system testing.
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment that values autonomy and experimentation, and you enjoy mentoring others and communicating clearly.
- Experience with native mobile development (Android/iOS).
