Overview:
An advanced robotics company developing autonomous mobile platforms is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join its Hardware R&D team. This role focuses on designing robust, modular mechanical systems that integrate actuators, sensors, and embedded electronics into scalable robotic platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and prototype electromechanical assemblies for autonomous ground robots
• Conduct FEA and DFM to ensure structural integrity and manufacturing readiness
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on electrical and software integration
• Support development of tooling, test fixtures, and documentation for manufacturing
• Drive product development from early concept to full deployment

Preferred Qualifications:

• B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering or similar
• 4+ years of experience in robotics, automation, or hardware product development
• Proficiency with SolidWorks or Onshape; strong background in FEA and DFM
• Experience with drivetrain and actuator integration
• Comfortable with rapid prototyping and lab validation work

Bonus Skills:

• Familiarity with mobile robotics or industrial automation
• Experience working with ROS or embedded firmware teams
• Knowledge of IP-rated enclosure design, thermal management, or cable routing
